Calculating Averages

Questions that carry weight – rating questions, scales, and more – can deliver double the value in reports. In addition to frequency calculations (how many times each answer option was selected), average weighted score can also be reported.

Rating

When weights have been assigned to the answer options in Rating questions, including Rating Scale, Rating Radio Button, and Rating Drop Down, an average of these weights is calculated in the results in addition to the calculation of frequency. You can change the weight assigned to each answer option from the Build section under Design even after you have collected responses for the questions.

Ranking

In Ranking questions, an average is also calculated. An average ranking of each answer option is determined, resulting in providing the most preferred answer option with the highest ranking.

Numeric Text Box

When a Text Box is formatted to receive numeric responses, an average of all responses provided in the text box is calculated.
